Organizing Director - Services & Activities Fee (SAF) Committee Seattle

The Organizing Director is an essential component of the Services & Activities Fee Committee. The individual in this role will be responsible for providing logistical support for meetings, outreaching to UW students and departments, and assisting in budget and report creation.

The Services and Activities Fee is a student-levied, student-distributed fee to support and enhance the out-of-class experience of students at the University of Washington Seattle. The Services and Activities Fee provides ongoing operational and capital funding for programs like the HUB, ECC, Hall Health, and many other units that protect and enrich the cultural, emotional, intellectual, physical, and social well-being of the student. The Service & Activities Fee (SAF) Committee is comprised of appointed student representatives, faculty representatives, and advisors from UW Student Life and the UW Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • MUST be an enrolled (full-time or part-time) UW undergraduate or graduate student
  • MUST be available from 1:00pm to 3:00pm every Friday during the regular academic year. Availability for the 2024-2025 academic year is preferred, but not required.

8-16 hours per week during Winter and Spring Quarters (10 weeks per quarter)

Job Responsibilities:

❏ Prepare meeting agendas and distribute them to committee members.

❏ Attend all committee meetings and keep written minutes of meetings and attendance.

❏ Prepare meeting minutes for review and approval by the committee.

❏ Assist the SAF Committee Chair with the preparation of reports, presentations, and the annual budget, as well as with the creation of additional documents as necessary.

❏ Assist with outreach to SAF-funded units, students, and committee members as necessary.

❏ Keep all files up-to-date and organized in both physical and digital formats

❏ Perform other tasks as requested by the SAF Committee Chair
