Advanced Industries - Junior Capabilities & Insights Analyst

You will be based in our Waltham, MA office as part of McKinsey’s Global Client Capability Network (CCN) which includes more than 3,000 diverse professionals delivering distinctive client impact and fueled by a culture of innovation. 

As a member of the advanced electronics research team, you’ll be helping clients in all areas of the semiconductor value chain, components and emerging technologies (5G & IoT hardware, machine/deep learning accelerators) to help them solve their most challenging operational and strategic problems.

We offer free daily shuttles from Alewife and Cambridge Square train stations to our Waltham office. In our current environment, our team is working remotely until further notice. 

You will work in a fast-paced environment and become a thought-partner to client teams and clients. 

In this role, you will provide support in the prioritization of most impactful research activities. You’ll research, analyze and synthesize key client questions as well as identify data, information and/or analysis to support problem-solving efforts and targeted industry research. You’ll synthesize findings by preparing McKinsey-formatted end-products through models, presentations and written communications. 

You will develop industry knowledge and expertise, both general and specific to the advanced electronics sector. You’ll collaborate with our global client capabilities team to share and build knowledge, best practices and new ideas. Lastly, you will drive and participate in entrepreneurial efforts and special projects around firm innovation and knowledge delivery (both with client teams and on a stand-alone basis).

All analysts receive exceptional training as well as coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams. This support includes a dedicated senior member from your practice assigned to you to help guide your career as well as up to five weeks of formal training from your start date. Additionally, you'll receive guidance and support from your team in the selection of research activities and special projects. In addition to trainings and learning opportunities, you will gain access to a wide range of internal and external industry sources and the opportunity to attend key industry specific events and conferences.
