Human Resources Internship (unpaid)

Purpose
The HR Intern will be a part of the HR department supporting Neighborcare Health’s 30+ locations in Seattle and Olympia, WA. The intern will gain exposure and hands on participation in HR generalist activities, benefit & leaves, recruiting support, projects, This is an immediate need internship that will begin as soon as possible. 

In this position you will:
  • Lead assigned projects with HR leadership, accurately update, maintain and identify issues with employee data to ensure the integrity of the Human Resource Management System (HRMS).
  • Provide administrative support for people programs such as the volunteer program, job shadowing, student placements, exit interviews, benefits and training.
  • Supports projects and initiatives at the direction of department leadership. Assist with file documentation, organization and archiving including employee filing. Learn about HR metrics and use of data to balance business decisions with the impact to people.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed such as staff portal updates such as our teams bios and Human Resources programs
  • Provide support to the HR front desk in answering departmental phone/email.

Required qualifications for this position include:
  • Current enrollment in a Human Resources Management Bachelor’s Program
  • A can do attitude and growth mindset! 
  • Ability to pro-actively problem solve – we want to hear your ideas on how we can improve our processes!
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated good judgement and confidentially. 
  • Strong initiative and follow-through and ability to successfully work under general supervision.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure, communicate in person, via email, and over the phoneEnjoy working in a fast-paced environment with variable and sometimes competing deadlines. Ability to comply with HIPAA and Neighborcare confidentiality policies and procedures, and to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive staff information.
  • Ability to work with individuals of varying ethnicities, socio-economic levels, cultures and sexual orientations.
  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships that foster a positive working environment with an emphasis on teamwork. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and SharePoint.
