With over 650 student-athletes participating in UW's 22 sports programs, the department of Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to providing student-athletes with the ability to compete for national and conference championships while working toward a degree from one of the world's leading public research universities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports photography coverage for UW Football events, including practices, workouts, games, and recruiting weekends. (40%)
- Assists with editing and delivering photography content for UW Football social media platforms, ensuring timely and engaging visual storytelling. (30%)
- Collaborate with the Football recruiting department to create and refine photo assets that enhance recruiting efforts. (25%)
- Maintains and organizes a comprehensive photo archive system, including consistent file management and backup across multiple storage platforms. (5%)
Minimum Requirements
High School graduation or equivalent AND provide a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional photography work.
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Additional Qualifications
- Candidates must own or have reliable access to a professional-grade camera body and lenses.
- Candidates should present a portfolio of published creative work demonstrating their proficiency.
- Candidates must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates with knowledge of sports will be given additional consideration; however, this is not required.
- Candidates with experience in sports and action photography, studio lighting, videography, and/or graphic design will be given additional consideration, but such experience is not required.
Typical Schedule
Candidates with availability for a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, will be given additional consideration; however, this is not required.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in diverse environments, including indoor facilities and outdoor stadiums in varying weather conditions, often with exposure to loud noise during events.
- May require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and moving quickly to capture live-action content.
- Must be able to lift and transport photography equipment, including camera bodies, lenses, and lighting gear.
