With over 650 student-athletes participating in UW's 22 sports programs, the department of Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to providing student-athletes with the ability to compete for national and conference championships while working toward a degree from one of the world's leading public research universities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for designing graphics for the UW Football social media pages. (40%). 
  • Will create and design materials for the Football recruiting department. (30%). 
  • Will provide on-site design support at UW Football team events, practices, workouts, and recruiting weekends, including gameday graphics, event signage, and real-time social assets. (25%). 
  • Maintain the comprehensive archive system of all previous and current design projects, including regular file back-ups on different drives. (5%). 

 

Minimum Requirements 

High School graduation or equivalent AND knowledge of creative tools necessary to produce outstanding content.

 

Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Additional Qualifications

  • Candidates must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or higher on a Mac OS platform. 
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong typographic and layout sensibility. 
  • Candidates should have a portfolio of published creative works to demonstrate such proficiency.
  • Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates who are sports knowledgeable will be given additional consideration, but it is not required. Candidates who have experience with motion graphics, photography, illustration, and/or brand identity systems will be given additional consideration, but it is not required.

 

Typical Schedule

Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, will be given additional consideration but is not required.

 

Working Conditions

  • Primarily desk-based work.
  • May include occasional light duties, such as moving small equipment or setting up spaces.
