STUDENT DIGITAL STORYTELLER - MARKETING/COMMUNICATIONS
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
StoryWell seeks a creative, motivated, and efficient student to serve as lead storyteller to create marketing materials and digital content. The primary objective of this role is to work with key stakeholders to oversee the production of compelling stories that promote the UW health center. This role works closely with a professional advisor and student producer to create compelling materials for Husky Health Center as a member of StoryWell’s inaugural year.
ABOUT HUSKY HEALTH:
StoryWell is an educational lab administered by Husky Health Center to give UW Seattle students real-world experience, education, and projects in marketing and communication. Students working in StoryWell will spend their one-year term learning and practicing a variety of skills with a professional advisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create short-form videos, graphics, podcasts, and posts to help promote health services on campus
- Generate content for Husky Health social media
- Work with members of the Husky Health Center community to showcase their work and knowledge by using digital formats
- Apply strong editing skills to ensure high quality and cohesion among products
- Brainstorm and research new promotional opportunities
- Anticipate upcoming events and obstacles to proactively organize marketing and communications materials
- Help StoryWell meet key social media, print, email, and event objectives
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits (for Undergraduate) or 5 credits (for Graduate)
- Comfortable openly discussing college healthcare topics
- Passionate about the fields of marketing and/or communication
- Experienced in creating engaging and on-trend short-form video content
- Have created high-quality social media content in a personal or professional setting
- Seeks meaningful engagement with the entire UW Seattle campus community
DESIRABLE QUALIFCATIONS
- Focused on exploring professional opportunities in marketing and communication
- Experience creating timely deliverables in the realm of marketing and communication
- Graphic design and photography experience
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Standard Work hours: Flexible based on student schedule
- Part-time/Up to 19 hours per week
