Marketing Insights Assistant
PURPOSE
The Marketing Insights Assistant supports the development of a more data-informed marketing practice by improving how we collect, track, and use performance data across digital channels. This role helps transition the team from manual reporting to more automated, scalable insights that inform decision-making across social media, email, and web experiences.
This is an evolving role designed for a curious, analytical student interested in marketing analytics, data systems, and digital measurement. The position offers hands-on experience building foundational skills in data pipelines, web analytics, and reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Collection & Automation
• Support the collection and organization of marketing performance data across social and email platforms
• Assist in building and maintaining lightweight automated workflows to streamline recurring data pulls
• Help structure and manage datasets in a centralized environment (e.g., BigQuery or similar)
• Ensure data is accurate, consistent, and usable for reporting and analysis
Website Tracking & Analytics (GA4/GTM)
• Assist with implementation and maintenance of website tracking using tools like Google Tag Manager and GA4
• Help validate tracking, troubleshoot issues, and document tagging structures
• Support efforts to improve visibility into user behavior and campaign performance
Ad Hoc Reporting
• Contribute to recurring and ad hoc reporting on marketing performance
• Partner with team members to answer questions and surface insights that support decision-making

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Position maintains regular office hours Monday through Friday.
• Work is performed in an open office setting with noise and other distractions. The position may travel to various campus locations with a laptop computer, camera or marketing materials.

Marketing Insights Strategist
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Experience working with data, including querying, cleaning, and organizing large datasets
• Experience with SQL, with the ability to write and optimize queries in Google BigQuery or a similar cloud database environment
• Familiarity with API integrations or ETL tools for automated data collection
• Strong attention to detail and an organized, problem-solving mindset
• Ability to learn new tools and concepts
Preferred
• Experience with social media platform APIs (Meta, LinkedIn) or email marketing platforms (Marketo, Microsoft Customer Insights)
• Exposure to databases or data warehousing concepts (e.g., BigQuery)
• Familiarity with web analytics tools (e.g., GA4) or tag management (GTM)
• Experience with reporting or data visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau)
• Interest in marketing analytics, digital measurement, or data systems
• Awareness of social media and email marketing metrics
Soft Skills
• Analytical and curious; enjoys working with data to solve problems
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building processes over time
• Communicates clearly and can translate data into understandable insights
• Proactive and self-directed, with a willingness to ask questions and learn
