Administrative Assistant
The HUB serves as the center of the UW community life and complements the student experience through an extensive variety of cultural, educational, social, and recreational programs. These programs provide the opportunity to balance course work and free time in the Husky Experience.

Job Description
The HUB Administrative Assistant supports HUB Administration in delivering routine and project-based support to the units housed within the Husky Union Building. This position will complete daily office or clerical tasks, provide customer service through email and in-person exchanges, and offer technical assistance with larger office projects as directed by their supervisor.
Responsibilities
Daily Office Tasks:
- Mail collection and drop-off
- Greet guests in HUB 305 and direct questions or inquiries to the correct office or individual
- Monitor the HUB inbox and categorize or assign messages to the correct tab/person
- Maintain office and kitchen tidiness
- Replenish stock in kitchen or office supply cabinet
- Monitor and notify supervisor when office items need reorder or repair
Project Support:
- Research
- Data entry
- Note taking
- Organize and maintain digital files and physical spaces
- Document building policy and procedures
Programming/Event Support:
- Attend events as needed to offer day-of support
- Assist with planning large scale events, including the Makers Fair, Halloween at the HUB, and HUB Crawl
- Prepare, print, and distribute signage
Additional tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Communication
- Strong written and verbal professional communication
- Ability to write and edit promotional copy and external reports
- Accuracy in note taking and data entry
- Strong attention to detail
- Technical:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Organization
- Ability to maintain both physical and online file systems
- Ability to maintain office supplies and cleanliness

- Ability to problem solve in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications
- Work Experience: 1+ year work experience in an administrative support or customer service role
- Extracurriculars: RSO, student government, or volunteer experience
- Familiarity with the HUB and its services

Job Hours
12-16 hours per week, Monday-Friday (fall - spring) between 8am-5pm. Hours vary during academic breaks and University Holidays. Schedules are based upon workload, class schedule, and other academic responsibilities. Ideal candidates can commit to at least one academic year.
Project Persistence
As part of our commitment to the student experience, the HUB and the Division of Student Life will review each student interns academic progress via GPA reviews. The intent of these grade checks is to offer our interns holistic support and connect students to resources and academic support services should the need arise. These reviews will begin after you complete your first quarter of employment. GPA reviews have no impact on your selection for the position or your standing as an employee once you begin employment.
