Job Description
Now hiring Flag Football and Volleyball Officials – NO REFEREEING EXPERIENCE NEEDED!

YOU MUST ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS DIRECTLY:
1. What experience do you have with either sport?
2. What experience do you have with conflict management and resolution, particularly within a sports setting?
3. Tell us about a time where you had to work collaboratively with a teammate.
OFFICIALS HIRING PROCESS
Officials’ Info Meeting: Thursday, Sept 25th from 6-7pm – via Zoom.
Priority Application Deadline: Wednesday, October 1st by 11:59pm.
Mandatory Hiring Assessment dates: Thursday, October 2nd 6:00pm-10:00pm (timing for specific sports TBA).
Please bring a water bottle and wear athletic attire/gym shoes. Come ready to move! If you are interested in officiating for both flag football and volleyball, you must attend both assessments. The Hiring Assessment acts as an applicant’s interview and must be attended to be considered for the position. Interested applicants who did not submit an application before the application deadline are welcome to come to the Assessment, however, an application must be filled out directly following the event if not already completed.
Hired officials must attend the required training clinics for their sport. Officials Training will take place the first two weeks of October. Questions about the Officials Hiring Process can be directed to the Intramurals Manager, Katie Carroll, at kec1991@uw.edu.

Under the supervision of the Intramural Manager, Intramural Officials are responsible for officiating UW Recreation sporting events. Examples of duties include: enforcing rules of the game, ensuring that points are scored properly, and diffusing potential conflicts during games.
