CIRCLE of Friends Peer Advisers
CIRCLE of Friends Peer Advisers
Department & CoF Program Description
The Center for International Relations & Cultural Leadership Exchange (CIRCLE) serves as a hub for international student engagement, support, and advocacy. As part of the strategy to make CIRCLE a “home away from home” for international students, we created the CIRCLE of Friends program (CoF) in 2022, to provide a space for international students to hangout, make friends and get support, through all kinds of culture celebrations, fun activities, helpful sessions, free snacks and many more.
We are hiring three Peer Advisors to plan CoF events and lead a team of 5-8 volunteers.
Responsibilities
The CoF Peer Advisers will lead a group of student volunteers (CIRCLE Ambassadors or CAs) to offer a variety of cultural activities and workshops to engage and support international students each quarter, and more. Position responsibilities include:
- PAs will plan, execute, promote and reflect on each week’s activity based on students’ needs.
- PAs will help select and train a group of volunteers to implement weekly activities. An important part of the job is to create a strong bond within the team through weekly team meetings, hangouts, etc.
- PAs will attend all CoF large team trainings and meetings
- PAs will coordinate with CIRCLE Marketing and Communications Coordinator and others to promote CoF and its weekly events, via CIRCLE Newsletter and other social media platforms
- PAs will be responsible for budgeting and keeping track of team expenses on activities
- PA will also support other CIRCLE programs and responsibilities as needed.
